Here we go again...

So, I have decided to start a blog again. Why? Firstly, simply because I used to have one, had to stop writing it in order to finish my PhD despite being a new mum without childcare, and have now started to feel like I miss it. Secondly, because I've just started to do some (so far non funded) research on feminist blogging so it seemed an appropriate thing to do for some reason. Starting to read all these feminist blogs out there has also given me the inspiration to begin writing again, beit about other feminist blogs, my everyday joys and struggles with being a feminist mother of a boy, married in a heterosexual relationship (extremely conventional, I know) and under employed academic. (Just in case you didn't know, a thesis on Swedish feminist zines is highly unlikely to get you a permanent full time job...)

This time around I have decided to write mostly in English, even though the odd Swedish post might come up. English because my everyday life is in English at the moment, my research will be mainly in English and whilst all of my Swedish friends read English, most of my non-Swedish friends don't read Swedish. I guess that makes sense.
